Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy explains how ViolinMarket collects, uses and protects personal data when buyers and professional dealers use the platform.
1. Who we are
ViolinMarket is an online platform connecting serious buyers with verified professional dealers, luthiers and bow makers.
For privacy-related questions, you can contact us at:
2. Data we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the platform, manage accounts and allow buyers and dealers to communicate.
- Account data: name, email address, password authentication data and account type.
- Buyer profile data: country, phone number when provided, buyer profile information and enquiry history.
- Dealer profile data: shop name, business details, country, city, profile text, portfolio photos and public dealer information.
- Listing data: instrument information, descriptions, photos, certificates or expert details when provided by the dealer.
- Technical data: authentication/session data required to keep users logged in and secure the service.
3. Why we use this data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- creating and managing buyer and dealer accounts;
- reviewing dealer applications and maintaining a trusted professional marketplace;
- displaying dealer profiles and instrument listings;
- allowing buyers to contact dealers directly;
- sending account, enquiry and platform-related emails;
- preventing misuse, spam or fraudulent activity;
- allowing users to delete their account or request changes to their data.
4. Who can see what
Public visitors can browse published listings and public dealer profile information.
Registered buyers may access additional dealer contact and enquiry features.
When a buyer contacts a dealer, the dealer receives the buyer’s enquiry details, including the buyer’s name, email address, message and any phone number shared for that purpose. The buyer’s phone number is not publicly displayed and is only shared with the dealer contacted.
Dealers can manage their own listings, photos and profile information. They cannot access private data belonging to other dealers.
5. Service providers
ViolinMarket relies on trusted technical service providers to operate the platform. These may include hosting, database, authentication, image hosting, payment and email delivery providers.
These providers only process data as needed to provide their services to ViolinMarket.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or behavioural tracking cookies.
If analytics or additional tracking tools are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and, where required, consent will be requested.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain account history, comply with legal obligations and protect the platform from misuse.
When a user deletes their account, we aim to remove or anonymise personal data that is no longer necessary, unless retention is required for legitimate or legal reasons.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, including the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to request data portability.

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to keep data collection limited and access controlled.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves, for example if new features, providers or tracking tools are added.
The latest version will always be available on this page.
